Mr Lloyd Williams
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Lloyd Williams graduated from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College in 1986 and after junior surgical posts at Barts and the West Middlesex University Hospital became a Fellow of the Royal College Surgeons in 1990.

He then completed a six year higher surgical training programme based at the Royal National Orthopaedic and Middlesex Hospitals in London.   He gained the FRCS (Orth) accreditation in 1996. Following this he undertook fellowships in Texas Medical Centre, Houston, USA and also in The Mater and Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospitals in Dublin, Ireland.

He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Specialising in Foot and Ankle Disorders at University College London Hospitals NHS Trust in 1997.  During his time as a Consultant at UCLH, Lloyd was also Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to Saracens Rugby Football Club until 2001, and is also currently Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to both the Royal Ballet Company, English National Ballet and Central School of Ballet.  He is a Fellow of the British, European and American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Societies, and has published papers extensively in foot and ankle surgery.  He was convener of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Foot and Ankle Surgery Course from 1999 to 2007, and has also been a Faculty Member of various national foot and ankle surgery teaching courses.

In fulltime private practice since 2004, his special interests are foot and ankle disorders in sportsmen and dancers, forefoot reconstruction for hallux valgus (bunions) and also correction of hindfoot deformity and arthritis.  He has extensive experience in looking after professional sportsmen’s foot and ankle problems in the fields of football, rugby union and rugby league.

Mr Williams now provides Out Patient services at 79 Wimpole Street, and operates at Princess Grace Hospital, W.1.  He accepts referrals from all over the UK and from abroad.
